The Tumblers are the premier gymnastic team in the Ark-La-Tex. Through dedication and hard work, the girls have achieved countless invitational, area, state, and regional titles in both individual and team competitions. Year after year, the Tumblers are one of the most competitive and respected teams in the region. Their motto, "Striving For Better Than Perfect," clearly states their relentless pursuit of success.
Frisco, TX , February 13-14, 2010
Members of the North East Texas Tumblers traveled to Dallas this weekend to compete in the WOGA Classic International Invitational hosted by World Olympic Gymnastics Academy. The competitions were held at the WOGA-Frisco Gymnastics Center and the Frisco Convention Center. This was a huge meet with over 1000 gymnasts representing all of the following: CA, CO, FL, GA, KS, LA, MA, MO, MS, NJ, NM, NV, OK, PA, TX, WI, WV, Germany, Australia, Japan, Turkey, Canada, New Zealand, & Mexico. NETT gymnasts were excited not only about the competition but also the opportunity to interact with other young ladies from different parts of the US and the world!
The NETT Level 4’s began the competition on Saturday morning with a tremendous showing. Peyton Turner (7 yrs old from Atlanta) scored a career high 38.25 for a 1st place finish in the 6-7 year old division All-Around. Turner placed 1st on vault (9.75), 3rd on bars (9.4), 1st on beam (9.7), and 5th on floor (9.4).
Chloe Davis (8 yr old from New Boston) also scored a career high All-Around of 37.40 for a 3rd place finish. Davis, competing in the 8 yr old division, placed 2nd on vault (9.6), 3rd on bars (9.2), 2nd on beam (9.3), and scored 7th on floor (9.3).
Autumn Underwood (from Texarkana, AR) also competed in the 8 yr old division of Level 4. She scored an 8.85 on vault, placed 8th on bars (8.9), 7th on beam (9.0), and 8th on floor (9.25) to finish in 8th AA with a 36.00.
Payton Smith (11 yrs old from Texarkana, TX) competed in the 11+ age division of Level 6 on Saturday afternoon. Smith scored a career high 37.20 All-around and a 1st place finish. Smith also placed 2nd on vault (9.25), 3rd on bars (9.00), 1st on beam (9.75), and 1st on floor (9.2).
Madison Maynard (11 yrs old from Texarkana, TX) scored a season high 36.925 All-around to place 3rd in the Level 7 competition for her age division. She placed 3rd on vault (9.4) and bars (9.15), 5th on beam (9.25), and 4th on floor (9.125).
The next competition for NETT is the Kurt Thomas invitational which will also be held at the Frisco Convention Center on February 27-28 and hosted by Kurt Thomas Gymnastics Center.
